Outlook 2003 Not Collecting From POP3

Hello all,

Here is a scenerio I hope someone can help with. The Company laptops all run Outlook 2003. These lap tops are set to sync (user files, desktop, My Documents etc) to a Windows 2003 Server when connected to the network.

On occasion when the server goes offline or the connection is broken (i.e. you get the warning icon in the task bar stating that you are now working offline) Outlook 2003 stop collecting from a POP3 account if it was left open (not utilising Exchange yet). To elaborate.. Outlook works fine.... then the sync server goes offline.... you click send and receive and it looks like it works fine (no error messages) but you get no mail.... If you close Outlook down and re-open and send and receive it then collects...

Anyone else experienced this or even better - resolved it
