Problems with Sweex wireless pci adapter card

Hi
I wonder if anyone can put me in the right direction to solving my adapter card. The main pc is wired to the Sweex router via the ethernet cable and is connected to the internet ok.The second computer has the sweex wireless adapter fitted and is rcognized by the main computer as being attatched to the wireless network. The adapter card is recognized in the device manager and is telling me that there are no problems with the adapter, however when i try to connect to the internet from the second computer with the adapter card I get a message saying the wireless connection is disconnected. Cananyone tell me what i can do to enable this connection.
Both computers have xp os.and network was setup using windows xps wireless setup. Thanking you in anticipation
Bill
