I have made an mp3. The BBC who site has a version you can listen to on there, so I used a program on my Mac to record the stream

Fine episode apart from that. Some double or triple episodes I have seen in various SciFi shows feel like they have stretched the story of one episode to fit in two or three. This really didn't. If anything, the first episode felt like it had too much in it.

Yup. Only on BBC1 in England (& the live iPlayer stream).
Not in Wales, not in Scotland, not on BBC HD.

As well as Simon Pegg & Charlie Brooker commenting on it via Twitter (links earlier), here's what Matthew Graham (executive producer of Ashes To Ashes) had to say:

I would hope that, given the sheer level of anger this has generated, they will realise that it's best not to do it again...
The BBC is not Sky. It's not ITV. It's not some stupid US Network. It's the bloody BBC. We expect better, and deserve better, from our publicly funded public service broadcaster, especially when it is showing its flagship Saturday evening show on its main channel. To have an on-screen banner at any time is ridiculous enough as it is, but to have one pop up right at the climax of the episode, spoiling the tension & immersion, is utter stupidity.
Very good episode though, yep. Raises some interesting questions too regarding River.

Not good enough, IMO. All they're apologising for is the timing, there's no apology for using a banner in the first place, & no promise that they won't use one again.

Re: Doctor Who : Season 5
At last, 4 episodes in, they finally deliver a decent episode.
For my money, the weeping angels are the no.1 Dr Who scary monster.
Looking forward to part two, I hope Moffat hasn't inhereited RTDs knack of making a good part 1 and then completely tossing it up in a lame part 2.

Re: Doctor Who : Season 5
Well, finally got to watch Saturday's ep last night. Absolutely top rate. Even Mrs T was cowering when the angel came out of the TV set. (Anyone else seen The Ring, BTW? I reckon Moffat was channelling ).
