Which boxes are useful? (What are they please?)

Would really appreciate someone's help please.
I'm doing up a flat and have come across these various things... Unsure if they're aerial boxes, stuff to do with satellites or what... To be honest my knowledge of TV/phone access is limited as I've only ever had virgin and then NowTV previously. Can I get rid of them? Are they any use? Which one do I need to keep or if someone comes to install NowTV/Virgin etc will they just install their own new one? Is there any benefit to these? Many thanks, Joy

First ones a Cable box so Virgin broadband and TV should work on it. 3rd is a BT box for phone line and BB middle box but not sure where does the cable go?

Re: Which boxes are useful? (What are they please?)

The cables that are running out of them just travel through the flat one is a dead end, from the first cable box. The wire from the middle photo looks a bit knackered, it disappears into a wall... Unsure where to to be honest. Would it be outside and up? Seems a thin cable from that one.
The third photo BT one has a doggy extension, can I just disconnect it, if I don't need it travelling to another room? Thanks so much for your reply!
