Using 2 Computers on one STB?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I currently have one computer connected to my STB, and its connects to the internet fine, its an Apple eMac G4.

However I wish to also connect a Power Mac G3 to the same STB so it can connect to the internet too, but not at the same time as the eMac (basically cos I don't have the money for a router and the fact I only need one on at one time really.) But everything I did to the eMac to get it online I have tried with the Power Mac, but its refusing to connect left right and centre.

I can't even get to start.ntl to register the MAC address of the machine.

The Power Mac is running Mac OS 9.2.2, and is fully compatible according to NTL to be used on their BB service.

So does anyone know what I have to do short of buying a router?

Do yourself a favour and buy a router. They are not expensive.

Re: Using 2 Computers on one STB?

Are you power cycling the STB between Macs? You need to powercycle each time you connect a device to either an STB or CM.

Ebuyer sell wired routers for ~£20 iirc, maybe less on ebay.

Even a cheap hub would do it so long as you turn the router off between using different pc's
