Linksys Router Issues

Hi there

Router seems to have reverted to default settings - wireless network now called Linksys, and no longer secure.

Logged into http://192.168.1.1. but the page doesn't fully load - comes up as an incomplete webpage - impossible to make anything out.

As can't get into the settings page, i'm having trouble securing the network.

Any ideas how i can sort this issue out - apparently need to upgrade firmware - prob is, when go on linksys website, the file downloads as a .bin file - computer does not know what program to open it with.

Help much appreciated - thanks!

Re: Linksys Router Issues

Ok, there's a section within the control panel of the router that you need to access in order to be able to upload the file.....as you can't access the control panel properly though.....

I think your problem is more likely to be local, in other words I think your browser is screwing things up.

I would suggest that you look carefully at any pop-up blocking software that you have installed/enabled and that you look at your browser settings to make sure that it's not blocking any specific scripts/content.

Re: Linksys Router Issues

the router has a management area where you can flash the firmware, you select the bin file and then it flashes it with the file

something sounds not right if it isnt displaying correctly via a wired connection, what browser?
