Joy of being retired - I have got back into reading books most days/evenings.

Read 31 books so far this year (according to my "Read2022” folder in my iPad Books app).

Recently (re-)read the first 5 Reacher books (having watched the TV series) -

Killing Floor
Die Trying
Tripwire
Running Blind
Echo Burning

Also recently read (amongst others)
Beyond the Hallowed Sky - Ken Macleod
Kaiju Preservation Society - John Scalzi
Stars & Bones - Gareth L Powell
Aliens:Bug Hunt - edited by Jonathan Maberry
The Shattered Skies - John Birmingham
Old Twentieth - Joe Haldeman (re-read)
Camouflage - Joe Haldeman (re-read)
The Doors of Eden - Adrian Tchaikovsky

Reading now -

Without Fail - Lee Child
Amongst Our Weapons - Ben Aaronovitch (latest "Rivers of London" book)
Dark Horse - Gregg Hurwitz (latest in the "Orphan X" series)
Tornado - John Nichol
Top 10 Dubrovnik & The Dalmatian Coast - DK Eyewitness Travel (off to Dubrovnik in July, so prepping)
Explore Hawaii Insight Guide (thinking of going to SF/Hawaii/Washington DC May 2023, so doing some research).

Re: What are you reading?

I'm starting to read The Expanse series.

But I'm reading "Memory's Legion" this contains books that give backstories and fill in the gaps, that go between the 9 books.

So I'm reading 3 of them before I can read Book 1 "Levathan Wakes"

Re: What are you reading?

The Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North.

Bought this first edition paperback when it was first released in 2014. Just found it at the back of my bookcase so thought it was about time I read it.

My bookcase has no room, but I will still buy them, one day I might read my late mums dick Francis books in order, but I might have to fill a few gaps as she used to read them from the library.

I have over 900 books.

I probably beat you by a few hundred.

Most of my shelves are 2 books deep and I have bookcases in most rooms. My main addiction is to science fiction and fantasy. I also have a lot of books dealing with restoration techniques which I inherited from an old friend who helped me when I set up my gilding business.

Oh and being somewhat interested in shoes I have quite a collection of books about their design over the last couple of centuries.

I recommend the 9 Expanse books plus the latest book Memory's Legion which has the prequel and fill in bits not in the books.
