Question Router problems - wireless works but no ethernet on main computer - please help

Hi
I've just got my replacement belkin 54g router, and for the last week i
have been using a modem to allow me to access tiscali broadband, where
i had to dial up to connect.
Now i have set up the router, wireless works fine on my laptop and imac,
however the main computer (using windows xp) won't access the internet,
it keeps bringing up the dial up box i used when i used the modem
supplied by tiascali broadband. if i press cancel it will bring dial up box
up again & then says 'unable to establish a connection'.
Do i need to uninstall the modem to make the router the primary internet
connection thing? or is there a way i can change connection settings to
make the internet work on my windows xp computer via ethernet/direct
from router but not disable my wireless connections?
Thank you
Amy

You'll need to look at the settings in Internet Explorer, under Tools > options and connections. Everything needs to be set to never dial a connection. In control panel, delete any reference to your dial up connection under network connections

I think that you need to tell IE via the "Connections" tab in "Tools" / "Internet Options" that you no longer want to automatically dial a connection. Try selecting "Never dial a connection".

EDIT - beaten to it by Rob
