I'm still trying to get my breath back. I loved the fast moving action and the way the plot moved toward regeneration. The Christmas special can't come soon enough.

Ms LSainsbury talked nearly all the way through it so I'll have to watch it again in the week....
She better hope I'm not in the room next time Midsummer Murders or Spooks is on!!

Anyway, I loved the way they teased a 'heel turn' for the Doctor at the end - anyone else think that sort of scenario will lead in to his next regeneration?

Re: Doctor Who : 2008 & 2009 Specials
Did anyone notice the distinct similarity between the way the Ood appeared at the end and the way the Watcher appeared in some of the classic series eps (thinking particulary of how he appeared a few times in "Logopolis" around the time of the regeneration.

Also the way the cloister bell chimed signalling impending doom

AFAIK The Watcher only ever appeared in Logopolis. But they may have been referencing that with the Ood. They were certainly referencing Logopolis with the cloister bell sounding at the end of the episode, as that was a feature of Logopolis too.

Oh yeah, was that a reference to Journey's End in the flashback?

Overnight ratings for this were 9.1 million, which is very good.

Re: Doctor Who : 2008 & 2009 Specials
Lots of little things to be honest, but I'm going to put it up on m projector later and try watching it again, I was only watching it on a small TV last night so that didn't help at all.
