Trust you to be pedantic. You know what I mean about these migrants. They shouldn't be here, consuming £6m (or whatever) of our financial resources per day and getting medical attention on demand. No citation needed - just you being difficult.

Small beer compared to the amount of our nation’s wealth being plundered by the Tories and their cronies.

Let alone what the Truss experiment cost us at the roulette wheel.

Indeed the money the Government has wasted in the past few years would make ones eyes water.

The money spent here is tiny compared to all the other wasted billions yet people still are triggered by it? They don't get as angry about these other areas yet it is these policies & actions that are the basis for the anger this Government is feeding. It is sort of nation-based trolling.

Ultimately we’re living in a Ponzi scheme that’s collapsing. Profits from the future drove a one off windfall in privatisation. That money then got spaffed up the wall as they say.

Personal wealth has been driven by house prices - again pulling money from the future with ever increasing mortgage ratios and lengths. There’s nobody left to kick the can down the road to unless they do something wild like 40 year mortgages or 100 year mortgages.

But hey look over there - EU red tape and 8 folk on a dinghy.

Strange how you think pointing out something that you stated as illegal isn’t actually illegal is ‘pedantic’ - annoying when reality doesn’t match your views, isn’t it?

Meanwhile, back in reality…

Quote:
The Conservative Party has expelled MP Andrew Bridgen after he compared Covid-19 vaccines to the Holocaust and was found to have breached lobbying rules.

The member for North West Leicestershire had already lost the party whip, meaning he was sitting as an independent.

But the Tories have now stripped him of his party membership as well.
Mr Bridgen said his expulsion "confirms the culture of corruption, collusion and cover-ups".

A Conservative Party spokesman said Mr Bridgen was expelled "following the recommendation of a disciplinary panel".

He has 28 days, from the date of his expulsion on 12 April, to appeal.

They're consuming those resources for three main reasons:
- We take a long time to process their applications so potential nurses, HGV drivers, fruit-pickers etc are rendered economically inactive.
- We've declined France's suggestion that the UK allows them to claim asylum from France.
- We voted to leave the EU in 2016 which had allowed us to return such migrants to the EU country which they came from. I'm not sure Farage and Johnson emphasised we would lose this right.

Re: The Chronicles of Rishi

And just for a little extra schadenfreude, Dally Mail headline from the day before the Election…

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...sters-say.html

Quote:
Tory surge shrinks Starmer’s hopes of local elections 'bloodbath': Boost for Rishi Sunak as Conservatives may lose far fewer seats than had been feared, pollsters say

The Conservatives may only lose 338 seats, much less than the 1,000 predicted*…

… It points to a major turn-around in the party’s ratings under Prime Minister Rishi Sunak…

… The projections by respected forecaster Electoral Calculus for the Daily Mail and based on the latest polling, found that Labour will gain 395 councillors. This figure would be likely to disappoint the party.

It would also leave the Conservatives with more seats than Labour out of the 8,057 being contested – 2,963 versus Labour’s 2,474.

Labour is projected to take control of nine more councils, only two of which are currently fully Conservative controlled.

The Tories will gain two more councils but lose 16, according to the Electoral Calculus study.
Narrator: "Meanwhile, back in the real world, the Conservatives lost over a thousand seats and 48 Councils…".

*nb - the 1000 seat prediction was by Greg Hands (Tory Party Chairman) who was doing the old trick of expectation management by predicting really bad results so that when they lost less, it could be called a "win" - ooopsie!!"

Re: The Chronicles of Rishi

Well the conservatives may have lost 1060, but only half of them actually went to Labour.

The Lib Dems gained just over 400, and the Greens just under 250.

Re: The Chronicles of Rishi

Looks like Labour did well in the former 'Red Wall' areas, maybe making them former former Red Wall areas, and Lib Dems took them apart in the 'Blue Wall'. Getting attacked from both sides.

There is certainly a god down here as the Conservatives destruction of the trees did not go down well with the voting populace.

That’ll be two car lanes to become one so that the other lane is for the two cyclists per fortnight; that’ll a week added on to bin collection intervals; that’ll be doubling of car park charges.

All that to give the Tories a kicking.

My council is Surrey Heath. We tried to see, whether if everyone switches from Labour to Lib- Dems will work, and it worked.

It is Michael Gove's seat.

Sarah Vine will be popping the Prosecco!

Don't tell me about it. I will have to pay the price for it. Idiotic policies are on their way, too many to mention. And my council tax from £3300 will be gone to £4000... (I hope for a cap)

We are getting organized to kick Gove out. ...but he has a huge majority

If voters and opposition parties cotton on to tactical voting, withdrawing candidates in seats they have no chance, then the Tories are history. I do love a happy ending
