Re the pods, do you have to pay monthly for them?

Personally I just used TP-Link Deco for mesh, one-off cost and 2.5 Ghz ports

Re: Rollout of the HUB5

I don't think the WiFi range is any stronger on the Hub5, I barely get a signal 10ft from my front door, it's fine for what I need though.

Re: Rollout of the HUB5

I appliedvia the link a couple of weeks ago and to my suprise they sent the hub 5 despite me having 1 gig and 2 pods.

Its made a big difference to the WIFI as before I was getting a max og 250mps but now I get between 700-900mps. Some parts og the day it drops to 100mps but wfat frustrates me is that some days my Virgin connect app cannot see the Hub and despite of rebooting, I have to wait until it suddenly finds it again. At the moment, it cannot see it again saying 'Oops!Something went wrong, try again.' So at the moment, I can't unpause devices.

Re: Rollout of the HUB5

So those that have the superpods and upgraded from huh 4 to hub 5 did the superpods require a firmware update or do you wait for customer services to assign the superpods to the new Mac address of the hub 5

Re: Rollout of the HUB5

I just had VM ring to offer a upgrade to 1GB and a Hub 5 and after initially refusing the upgrade the sales lady made me laugh out loud so decided to be a sport and go for it.

So I have read through this thread and I see folks are still using the Hub in modem modem and opting for a separate router. So i think it might be time to update my Nighthawk router and get one with a 2.5GBe port. is it just one of the LAN ports need to be 2.5 or does the WAN port need to be 2.5?

Any recommendations on a router that works well with 1Gb service?

Not sure if this is what you're asking 1 x 2.5Gbps LAN port and 3 x 1Gbps LAN ports.

I'm presuming your device has 2.5Gbe as well other wise you wont see any difference to the H4, im currently awating my H5 delivery on 28th so i can finally uncouple my balancing setup and save a few quids on the leky bill lol

H4 balanced on a 2.5Gbe port https://www.speedtest.net/result/d/a...a-116c2b9e694d

H4 on non 2.5Gbe port https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/...d-a1261813bd16
