Question Wireless Printing from OS X 10.6

Hey Mac guru's, im in need of some assistance. Basically, I want to print from my MacBook Pro wirelessly. So i inserted the printer usb cable and selected share this printer on the network and then clicked sharing options and selected which components to share, (in this case the printing an scanning facility). I then disconnected the usb cable and the printer says that its not connected. What am I doing wrong? Printer is a Lexmark X4550

Have you read the instructions? Sounds like you're sharing it from the Mac book which obviously isn't going to work once you unplug it, I'm not great when it comes to Macs unfortunately

Re: Wireless Printing from OS X 10.6

Ok I have run into a slight problem, I can print wirelessly from my Mac as above, but, to share the printer from my Windows PC's. Now I would normally go through the network and sharing centre and click add a printer, and then a wireless or bluetooth printer and browse for it, but as soon as I do this I cant see my Mac in the list of PC's

I don't know about macs, but its proberly a security seting on the mac need adjusting to allow it to be seen by the PC.

You could look at getting a print server that plugs in to a wireless router.

Re: Wireless Printing from OS X 10.6

you should make sure that your mac and windoze are in the same group? workgroup or mshome are the normal ones....

might be easier to set it up on the windoze machine and then on the mac. or if your router has a usb connection you could set it up on there as a network shared device. there are a host of options
