Japan’s Emperor Naruhito is rarely seen in public life in his own country.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has DIED. R.I.P
Sky are to temporarily close some of their channels on Monday.
These include Sky Comedy, Nature, and various Cinema/Sports channels.
Those that remain open will simulcast Sky News who will be covering the Queens funeral.
The BBC & ITV channels will also be covering it, so there will be plenty of opportunities to watch the proceedings.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has DIED. R.I.P
Think this will be the last big event like this. I'd imagine Charles will be the final King of Australia and New Zealand. When Charles passes he will have been on the throne 10 to 15 years and id imagine there will be less universal feeling like right now.
Tomorrow will be quite an event and i say this as someone who isn't a monarchist

The camerawork today was amazing. Some of the shots they got were excellent.

It will be especially given most people alive in this country today now never saw the last Coronation of a Monarch in 1953.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has DIED. R.I.P
Does anyone know what happens to the late Queens clothes?
---------- Post added at 22:50 ---------- Previous post was at 22:38 ----------
Also, why are the commercial channels not showing adverts? Is it really disrespectful to show them? If so then why not just carry on with programs instead of 3 minutes of music and pic of the late Queen?

It certainly was quite an event.
You expect this kind of thing in the city surroundings.
It was quite something else to see them marching down a country road.
At least they got decent weather, we got (light) rain here.

I think today was a day to be proud to be British.

Certainly made me feel sort of proud. As in only we could put this sort of thing on.
But then there’s Charley Farley show to follow. He could come right but his past form doesn’t help and his eyes are too close together.
But, tbf, he’s not screwed up in the first couple of weeks.

Agreed. A great day for the UK and a great day for the BBC too.
So many people must have worked hard behind the scenes to pull this together - I've certainly heard of hundreds of reservists working round the clock on 12-hour shifts to secure the area for the funeral and bedding down on camping mats in an old office without complaint.

Re: Queen Elizabeth II has DIED. R.I.P
Depending on your format preference, SKY was better than the BBC, the latter going back to the studio too often when there was stuff to see on the road. Imo.

Didn't the BBC produce the main feed?
