Help Needed - Parkdean Complaint
My dear friends of this forum.
I work with the police service, and went on a family holiday in July, the first during the entire Covid pandemic. First break since lock down started.
It was decided to meet our daughter, who lives in Edinburgh, half way down in Skegness at Butlins.
So we traveled from London to Lincolnshire and stayed at a Parkdean Resort park called Sunnydale, instead of Norfolk, where we normally go.
On arrival we were told our caravan was changed. The cleaning staff told us 'have we checked Trip Advisor'
We found to our horror, a terrible caravan that was filthy, a broken, lights were broken. We reported immediately.
We then found dog poo in the living area, and on a carpet outside the caravan.
Following morning we found dog poo on seating outside on the decking.
Again we complained. I have sent recorded delivery letters, emails, phone calls.
We have had no replies to our complaints
I personally have been called a liar by the park management.
Does anyone have an email address to complained to, or an email of the CEO, to which a letter was sent.
We went in July
Any help appreciated
We left after two days

Re: Help Needed - Parkdead Complaint
I dont know what relevance the police service is here (or trip advisor ?).
No need for all the capital letters though, title updated.
I hope you took plenty of pictures.

Re: Help Needed - Parkdead Complaint
I'd be tempted to get the local (that area) council involved, there must be a standard it has to reach for a place like that, and if it's as bad as you say they'll be interested enough to pay a visit.
. . oh, don't forget to mention the strange marijuana type smell you noticed as you walked past that big shed behind the main office

Re: Help Needed - Parkdead Complaint
Why is it called Parkdead in the title? It's not so bad you actually found a body surely! Hope you took photos, I'd never stay at a Parkdean, find them pretty classless in the way the treat long term residents especially on sites they buy that were already existing parks.

Perhaps as an indicator of honesty, not that it's much of a badge of integrity these days or to show he's been working through the lockdowns when most people were furloughed. Not sure about TripAdvisor though, perhaps he can leave a review!
Good to see you're still about and well btw Arthur

Phone your local paper and tell them you’re getting a “wall of silence” from the callous company that ruined your summer holiday. Make sure you provide them with all the photos you took of your scummy caravan before you left.
Consider making a complaint to trading standards at the local council where the park is based if you think they failed to provide the service you paid for.
Then put it down to experience and never forget there’s a reason why these places are cheap.

Re: Help Needed - Parkdean Complaint
The reviews tell a tale of used bedding, worn out mattress's ,food waste down the sides of sofa's, dirty floors.
"The van well past it sell by date mould in shower the condition inside worn out when rain came flooded could not get in or out without getting very very wet bloody disgusted"
"I thought the van itself was comfy and fairly clean inside. It could of done with a hoover in between the cushions of the sofa area. As when all sat on it you can see down the gaps and see rather alot of food residue like toast/ stale bread etc."

Re: Help Needed - Parkdean Complaint
If you have proof (photos) you could threaten them that you will go to the papers with this and see if it motivates them to get you some compensation.

Re: Help Needed - Parkdean Complaint
Did you pay by credit card?
There is a time limitation and some escape clauses but might be worth a look…

Citizens advice might be able to advise what you can do?
But go to Wales next time Arthur. I recommend Prestatyn where all your dreams will come true.

Prestatyn’s full of scousers. Probably not good for his spurs supporting sensibilities. Given where he lives I’d say Tenby’s a better bet.

Re: Help Needed - Parkdean Complaint
Had a big spurs fan in our local many years ago, when asked why he chose Spurs, his answer was that it was the only one he could say when pi$$ed out of his head . . which was quite often

Lot of caravans in Prestatyn, Arthur would love it
Tenby is full of Little Englanders....
