Sky could partner with Virgin Media for fibre build

A Sunday newspaper report that suggested the Comcast-owned pay-TV operator was preparing to partner with Virgin Media O2’s fibre rollout.

However, the source quoted in the Sunday Telegraph said that Sky was likely to keep its options open by using both Virgin Media and BT.

would love to see some decent competition against VM as I loathe them as a company but stuck with them for the BB

Loathe them? Why? It’s just a company providing a service to you. Is it a reliability problem and you have no alternative? I know some areas are problematical as they rely on legacy systems.

Only Openreach has universal coverage, so Sky would still have to use them for a lot of the country even if they signed a deal with VM02.

The over inflated prices for existing companies, their whole contract policy, their untrained CS, over biased on new installations and not existing customers unless you re-negotiate another contract. Plenty more but do not want to bore you

The service is great for me but the as I said it is the company I have issues with

Re: Sky could partner with Virgin Media for fibre build

It is going to be very expensive for one operator to cover the entire country.

What they need to do is get together and split the areas and share their resources.

I mean phone towers can be shared by multiple providers, even if say it was build by BT.
