Re: Harry Potter TV Series

Well that depends on who you believe.

Quote:
There are no Harry Potter series in development at the studio or on the streaming platform,” Warner Bros. and HBO Max said in a statement to Variety
It would be interesting to see what the plans are, if they exist.

Re: Harry Potter TV Series

Given the great potential monetary value of the Harry Potter franchise l suspect plans do exist.

true and if anyone is going to a proper job with it it is going to be HBO. They are going to have to throw a tonne of money at it in order to deliver the expected production quality and bring it inline with the movies the world that everyone already knows. Luckily HBO have experience of this with GoT and know they'll make $billions back in merchandise.

Re: Harry Potter TV Series

There are concerns on what's happening/going to happen to HBO though. A number of their executives have left and Warner Brothers have taken a much more active role in managing HBO Max, it's essentially WB Max but with the HBO label. It isn't being run by the people who ran the cable channel HBO (and by proxy the content for HBO Now).

The fear is basically that the HBO that made Game of Thrones has been hollowed out, WB moved in and use the name for their Netflix rival. The main issue is that HBO never made that much and now WB need to ramp up production for HBO Max.
