Re: All wireless channels slow
Were is the router, and other equipment, do you have cordless phones?
These can all effect the signal.

Re: All wireless channels slow
The 2.4GHz band is a nightmare of mismanagement - or is that unmanagement?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro...nce_at_2.4_GHz
Wifi competes with bluetooth (though with AFH adaptive frequency hopping -from 1.2 onwards, bluetooth should keep out of the way).
Video senders are probably the most incompatible device, since they generate a continuous carrier.
Microwave ovens (when running) may generate interference centred around Wifi ch9, though the pulsed nature means Wifi can get some throughput past.
2.4GHz wireless keyboards or mice are another potential source of interference, which will also be close to the equipment

Re: All wireless channels slow
The wireless router (BT Homehub 3) is downstairs on the table in the hallway, i do have a cordless phone but i think its on 5GHz, i did change my superhub to 5GHz which did improve the speed to about 40Mb but the homehub continues to operate on below 1Mb on all 2.4GHz channels.
i dont have wireless mouse or keyboard so the only thing could be the cordless phone on 5GHz or the microwave which isn't on all the time.
Is there anything i could do to improve the speed over wireless or not as before 1 week ago it was operating at around 30Mb on several different channels.

Re: All wireless channels slow
Sounds like something new nearby may be interfering then, may be worth scanning with http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/ - but unless you use a more expensive product with a dedicated receiver, most scanners that use Wifi hardware can only scan for Wifi signal strength, a few Wifi devices can report noise level, though not necessarily in a useful way (eg. my Ralink chipset one, which gives a noise level indication in the connection stats, but no use in diagnosing a no connection issue!).
And finally, almost any electrical/electronic devices can generate interference, so it's usually recommended to space the router away from any other electronics.
Anything at all changed recently? even if it's not a device that's meant to do anything on those frequencies, because if all channels are bad, it seems possible that it's a source of wideband, incidental interference, rather than something generating a precise signal - or somewhere nearby, there are 4 videosenders hogging each of their 4 channels that they split the band into.

Re: All wireless channels slow
i did get a three home signal, which is located upstairs, and BT Home Hub is downstairs, but i think the networks were slow before that.
All the networks in my area are on either 1, 6 or 11, no other channels are being used. Mine is on 10 which appears to be the most stable, 6 and 11 used to be perfect.
Nothing else has changed in my house though except for the Three thing.
