Now the indictment - a formal charge - has been unsealed to the public, here are some of the charges facing Trump...

From August 2015 to December 2017, Trump orchestrated his "catch and kill" scheme through a series of payments that he then concealed through months of false business entries;

In one instance, American Media Inc paid $30,000 to a former Trump Tower doorman, who claimed to have a story about a child Trump had out of wedlock;

In the second instance, AMI paid $150,000 to a woman who alleged she had a sexual relationship with Trump. When Trump directed a lawyer to reimburse AMI in cash, a special counsel indicated to him that the payment should be made via a shell company and not by cash. AMI ultimately declined to accept reimbursement after consulting their counsel;

In the third instance, 12 days before the presidential general election Trump's special counsel wired $130,000 to an attorney for an adult film actress;

After winning the election, Trump reimbursed the special counsel through a series of monthly checks, first from the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust and later from his bank account. In total, 11 checks were issued for a phony purpose.

Yes, he still keeps saying he wants to see Hilary and the Bidens in prison but I just can't see why he thinks they'll want to visit him in there though

A little confused here - surely what checks he writes from his own bank account can be for any purpose ?

The checks he wrote from his own account can be for any legal purpose.

However, the issue seems to be more about their purpose being illegal ie it's effectively hush money.

Have to confess I can't remember the last time I wrote a cheque!

They weren’t from his personal account, they were from Trump Company accounts - in the company accounts, they were recorded as being for one thing, but they were actually for something else for which no contract/agreement had been signed; this is, under NY law, fraudulent (falsifying business records).

the key allegations:

- The main accusation against Trump is that he "repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records to conceal criminal conduct that hid damaging information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election"

- By identifying and suppressing harmful stories about him from going public before the election, Trump and others involved in the scheme "violated election laws and made and caused false entries in the business records of various entities in New York"

- The document adds that Trump and his allies "also took steps that mischaracterized, for tax purposes, the true nature of the payments"

Fortunately I think there are fewer Trump apologists this side of the Pond now. They've seen through what he is and don't care for it. A spoilt rich kid who feels he is entitled to get his own way whatever the law says.

Read the indictment, never read anything so incredibly weak. Political persecution it must be.

I only skimmed it but falsifying business records is a crime, you and I would be done with fraud if we did it. Other than that though I don't see much weakness because they don't give evidence, just accuse him of it.

Feels a bit like Al Capone that they get him on this though if he is guilty.

As you said, we can't judge the validity of the case without the evidence. However, as the jury felt there is a case to answer, presumably they've seen some of the evidence against him.

I simply cannot understand how the courts have told Trump to cut out certain talks. Yet, he is blabbing his mouth lout about Biden.

I am surprised how he is being allowed to go for President again, and totally gobsmacked how he hasn't been shot.
