It’s the usual suspects on here who feign confusion. Most people know exactly what I am saying.

Thank you, Donald Trump…

"Most people"…

That’s an assumption, not a fact - you know what they say about assumptions…

You are projecting your beliefs on to others without supporting evidence.

Sky has revised its Sky Stream minimum speeds up from 10Mbps to 25Mbps for HD viewing and from 25Mbps to 30Mbps to watch 4K content

Re: Streaming services news, offers and general chit chat

The streaming bubble continues to deflate...
Quote:
Shares in Paramount dropped by almost 30 per cent after the company reported a billion-dollar quarterly loss and slashed its dividend, illustrating the challenges weighing on Hollywood as it pivots to streaming.

The studio behind the Top Gun movies reported a net loss of $1.1bn in the quarter, including a $511mn operating loss in its streaming business unit.

Investors have soured on Hollywood’s streaming revolution over the past year, slashing the valuations of the world’s largest entertainment companies.

Paramount+ is utterly pants. I’ve got a reduced 12 month sub at the moment, which I won’t be renewing. In future I may take out a couple of months here or there to binge Star Trek if they release new stuff.

It’s like any sector, multiple streaming platforms appear all with their own content propositions looking for market share. Some will have better propositions that others and be able to command direct subs due to their content. I.e. Disney & Netflix.

Others will have content but other add on services to bolster their offering I.e Prime and Apple

Then you have just the ones that can only offer content but no other additional service. I.e Paramount, Discovery. They do deals with other delivery vehicles like Sky.

There’s only so much subscription money to go around. The likes of Britbox, and the like, will not survive. I pay for many services and i wouldn’t pay for it.

I only have it as it comes free with Sky. All the Star Trek Stuff is one of their USPs ( it’s a certainty there will be the new Picard spin off), Tulsa King was also good, but that’s it.

As I say above, it will only exist as an add on. No one will pay for it by itself.

Prob is Paramount+ don't allow travel like Nextflix and Disney+ do,
with Paramount+ you need seperate subs for UK and USA.

Re: Streaming services news, offers and general chit chat

The US is a separate app to the international app , presumably because certain content they don't have the distribution rights outside the US or only handle on behalf of third parties.

Still doesn't mean people travelling shouldn't be able to use their international Paramount+ login if/when they're in the US.
It's making a easy thing complicated that's all Amazon are the same too.

If you're in the USA what's the issue?
Saying that though i just discovered tonight that Discovery+ is the same, i guess it's one to stop sneaky people like me using a vpn on their apps lol.

Obviously depends on what you like, Chris, we watched all of the Yellowstone series and thought they were excellent.
