Streaming services need to be extremely careful with the likes of Netflix raising prices in times where living costs are at a all time high could price the likes of Netflix out of peoples price range.

Is that how VM explain the lack of streaming services on the V6 and 360?
I will ditch the TV channels before I dump the streaming services, so it’s VM that need to watch out. I may be making my decision to do just that when my existing contract runs out, because we are getting to the point now where everything on the pay TV channels is on the streamers as well.

All that is needed is an AVOD version of the streamers. That will address the financial squeeze that people are starting to endure.

Nothing to do with VM this is information they had come into the office via a study that was done, people are feeling the squeeze more than ever now and subscription services are on very thin ice.

What makes streamers believe advertisers will make up the shortfall? After all, who wants to advertise to people who have little/no money left over for discretionary expenditure.

That assumes that people with money wouldn't watch AVOD services.

Well, if it’s the solution for streamers to the fact people have less money to spend it’s implied.

Not really. Some people don’t pay for their TV (other than the licence fee) on principle.
A couple of our friends are millionaires but they don’t subscribe to any pay TV channels or streamers. They are happy enough with the free stuff.

Yes, but those aren’t within the scope of:

It’s a principled point for them as you say. This wouldn’t represent streamers adapting to a changing market.

as it is costing next to nothing to have the TV service over BB only. it is the reason I haven't moved to Freeview. Before someone asks paying around £39 for maxit ? 100gig and land line .

BT Sport / Discovery merger latest:
Quote:
Simon Green, the head of BT Sport since its launch in 2013, has left the broadcaster after the announcement last month that it is to merge with Discovery.
Green has told friends that he thought it was the right time to move on given that the new American co-owners are likely to push for a rebrand and a different way of doing things.

I get free Netflix from my uncle (but rarely use it) and Spotify also provides decent value.

See for me Disney + just doesn’t have the variety of content others do , I’m not interested in Marvel or Star Wars and the kids have grown out of the younger stuff. Disney don’t seem to have done enough with the Star content , it has a decent back catalogue but if you’ve seen a lot of it that loses appeal.

It does, I agree, but as long as the keep adding originals each week, it becomes worthwhile.

Re: Streaming services news, offers and general chit chat
I'm considering subscribing to Disney+ as it's part of Tesco Club Card deals where £8 of vouchers gets you a 3 month subscription, so can't go wrong with that price?
Are we able to account share like we can currently with Netflix until they stop it?

I do not think Netflix can stop it unless when asked your shares say oh yeah I do not live there

Hopefully as I share with parents and my partner's son in Bulgaria.
I suspect they will figure it out with IPs.
