For me Boxnation is great value. A dedicated boxing channel that shows live fights, classic fights, documentaries and general boxing chat shows pretty much 24/7. I wish they'd hurry up with their HD version!

I will let them get on with it and in the mean time enjoy another sports channel that is FREE and has lots of rugby on it.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

i am glad Premier Sports has been made available at last on VM.

i will enjoy the 'free' period and watch some NHL.

After that i will not be subscribing simply because at £7.99/£9.99 pm it doesnt represent good value to me. But freedom of choice and all that ;people at least have the option to subscribe or not. Will be interesting how many subscribers the channel attracts on VM in the new year.

i am a bit disappointed VM and PS (and Netflix for that matter) could not thrash out a deal to include it in a pack such as XL. Now i know non-sports fans (what is up with these people anyway ? ) would moan that they would be subsidising this and BT/ESPN but i refer to a previous post if VM could have got PS and Netflix in a pack such as XL they could have covered the cost with a nominal price increase in the pack. Netflix would give the non-sports fans their 'value' . For me all parties gain- Netflix and PS probably get more £ than as standalone subscriptions, VM's top tier pack represents even better value for most XL customers and probably gains more subscribers. I understand PS have wanted a deal like this before but have wanted a bigger % than VM have considered acceptable. A small price increase done in a way that many would see as good value may have been a way to satisfy all parties)

I may be wrong in that assumption and can only speak for myself but if the XL pack (or maybe a new pack called say XL+) had the current content + the new rumoured channels + PS + Netflix i would be willing to pay more ( maybe a couple of quid maybe up to a fiver) as i would regard it as good value. Perhaps we could do a poll to gauge people's opinion?

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

So BT put up a free pass, those who don't subscribe did tune in from what im reading so ratings have most probably shot up and with that guess what, go on guess... its not hard

Spoiler:
nobody likes Owen and co

it is soo dire its truly unbelievable. BT wont listen though and on they go wondering why the ratings dont rise for the paid product as much as it should because the contents isnt bad. it isnt a case of getting people talking, its a case of people hating it soo much they cant be arsed, they wont pay for such crap which is a shame because as i said the contents, the offering of live events is good. bore off BT, killing live sport.

As a "non-sports fans (what is up with these people anyway?)" person, I actually had no problem adding BT sports to XL as it is a high profile channel and will help with take up of VM

But adding another Premium sports channel, full value £10p/m would have been a step too far, especially as even sports fans don't seem to rate it's content that highly.

If they were going to add another premium service, it should have been Netflix. That would be a fair balance for sports fans/non fans, and would have had the same effect as BT sports in attracting new customers to VM.

Why has there been such a fuss with PS with regard to the RWC? Is the BBC not covering all the games?

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

BT Sports @ £15/pm, PS @ £8/pm and Netflix at £6/pm is £29/pm that VM would have to fork out for on premium extras only, on a package that they only sell at £37. Its not feasible for them to include PS & Netflix in XL, it was (is?) barely feasible for BT Sports to be included but they didn't really have a choice.

Don't get greedy.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

First opportunity to watch Premier tonight. Firstly, three live NHL games in a row-thank god we get an extra hour in bed! Secondly I think the picture quality is actually very decent. Thirdly, will I subscribe when the freeview is up? Well, I've a pack of beer and all night to watch sport. Without Premier I'd still have live Italian football, and a couple of reruns of German football either side of Match of the Day, and that's before I settle down for game 3 of the World Series, so I'm finding it tough to make a case for parting with up to a tenner a month for it, but I'll certainly enjoy it whilst it's here.

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

A big thank you to VM for getting Premier sports.
I have just watched one of the greatest games of rugby league I have seen for years, absolutely brutal at times. Also the commentary by Aussie Andrew Voss was first class, much better than them Sky muppets.
Very well done to all concerned.
P.S. picture quality very good as well.
