No only TV power cable. This only started after the broken box (hard drive faulty) was replaced. New TV was already in place.other than that everything has been the same for a number of years. What is annoying is that the agents keep saying that the box was not activated and it was once they reset it

It was the box remote didn't talk to it , it should blink when used , it didnt has replaced everything,

Yes he replaced everything, went off when he was here, saw that the box didn't blink when remote was used( didn't know it should) thought it was safer to replace everything, basically said that the last engineer lied [ as suggested here) regarding box. And the call centre is a waste of time, he said that virgin were looking to move back to UK, who knows, sorry but my trust in Virgin employees is at an all time low. the only constant is don't change to360. At least for me, didn't see any advantage.

Worth checking the input source settings on the TV. It could be defaulting to the internal tuner even though you have an HDMI connection hence the snowstorm.

You might have to "burrow" down in the setup menus to see the relevant defaults. My Bravia has some weird and wonderful things down there.

It's been fine since the replacements . As a aside when it went in front of him ,connected to small TV didn't make any difference hence dismissed the TV as problem. Also it worked on smart TV settings when not working via Virgin , checked hdmi sockets ,dvd player worked on the one box failed on . At least he was honest enough to say he had no idea what has gone wrong. He was puzzled why when it died the remote seemed to as well. Anyway all is fine .

Strange that you had so many probs getting a replacement. My V6 box died on the 9th Jan. I called and got directed to a web link to arrange an engineer out. They came out and replaced the box on the 11th. That's it really, not a single prob nor did I have to call them again either. So on that I can't fault the service at all.

Good for you, guess a second problem in a week bu**** up the script had what you said for the first box, second in a week , really caused a lot of problems

Offered a £10 in compensation , told them to give it to charity, don't expect it to happen everything is still fine no problems at all , guess the kit is made down to price, not that I blame them if you can get away with it,
