dsldevice.lan wanted access

I occasionally see this pop up saying that dsldevice.lan wants access. It appears for a few seconds and then disappears before I can make my choice. What does this mean? Is it malicious or nothing to worry about?

Also, should I allow or not allow this request?

Re: dsldevice.lan wanted access

Access to what ?

dsldevice sounds like a router, and the message is probably windows firewall.
However, its a pretty vague and generic message, so this is really just guesswork.

It doesn't stay on the screen for long enough for me to be able to make a note of what it wants access to.
