Re: mj Quinn bt openreach engineers

i got told manchester was saturated with engineer and it wouldnt be fair to put me through training and have no job at the end but to be fair its a national contract so i could have worked out of area until they start recruiting for manchester.bunch of cowboys if you ask me

Re: mj Quinn bt openreach engineers

Right Guys

Training

You get £50 per day, out of that you need to pay for digs and food.

Make sure you have warm clothes on if your at PQMs, its bloody cold there at night

Once you have finished training on copper provision you will go out into the field with an experienced engineer, your "buddy" this is normally for 2 weeks, during this you will continue on £50 per day. To be fair you will probably need the 2 weeks.

Once completed and out on your own you will get on average 5-6 jobs per day

Through quinns you will get plenty of support from your manager, supervisor, other engineers etc

pay is 2 weeks in arrears through an umbrella company who sort your tax and ni

its a good job with a good company, the best of BT's main 3 contractors

Re: mj Quinn bt openreach engineers

I e mailed Quinns asking them to confirm they're cuckoo training times, 4:30pm till Midnight! I've still not had a reply from 3 days ago.

They're not inspiring confidence with this attitude.

Re: mj Quinn bt openreach engineers

5-6 jobs is possible and will become more as the lighter evenings approach

if they are running the 4-30 til midnight course it is because they will be running 2 courses per day

Re: mj Quinn bt openreach engineers

Doesn't really bother me the time of the course it's more the traveling and cost then on the fri you need to make a trip to Liverpool by train to collect a van do it Means u can't even take your car

I was told you get the van until the Monday. Are you thinking of spending the weekend in Liverpool?

Re: mj Quinn bt openreach engineers

Maybe I mis heard her on the phone that would be better to pick it up on a Monday so I could just drive down to the course and find cheaper digs don't know if I'm taking them up on the offer yet Paul it's a bit risky leaving my job but if this pulls off it would be good where abouts in Scotland u from I'm Newton Mearns in Glasgow ?
