Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2023)

I took one out of Thursday and was told again before that "no price rice" - told by three different people now at CS.

As it is recorded they will have trouble getting out of it.

Dude if you hate VM so much why are you still with them?
I got rid of them as soon as i could as i was disgusted with their customer service, there are more options than ever available to us now especially with city fibre and openreach rolling out full fibre too.
I'm not having a go at you but you grumble a lot about VM so why stay where you're not happy?

Sitting tight until price rise comes in at least that way I will get a clearer idea of the bottom line.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2023)

But BT Sport is included on VM but is another £30 to add on Sky. Netflix is now included by Virgin Media. I have Apple TV free and can't find anything worth watching.

Was the VM price quoted online or over the phone? I was paying that to VM with the free mobile thrown in too.

With both - you do seem to need to inform them you are cancelling for the best offer.

It is always worth trying a 2-3 times - different reps will offer different prices - at VM and Sky.

Netflix is NOT included it is a add on. Yet another reason to not choose virgin is getting paramount + . The main reason I have not yet moved to sky is the amount of holes needed to fit it !!!. Thinking Freeview + now , using smart TV for anything else I would fancy. Waiting to see what's if anything offered by virgin when increase is advised, yes I am out of contact anyway. Plenty of BB choices.

When our contract expired in June, we tried on 2-3 occasions to get our bill down. VM couldn't get our bill below £105. Sky offered so much more for £73, which my mother immediately accepted.

Netflix standard is included with Ultimate Volt granted a extra £5 for Ultra HD, As for Paramount+ will have to wait and see how Virgin bundle it.

Since you seem fine with a dish you'd be better with Freesat, there's more free HD and you don't get the part-time channels sharing streams.

I've got rid of loads of Virgin business accounts and some other accounts that I control. I dumped Virgin Mobile ages ago and have cut down the final account as much as I can.

I'm hoping that Cityfibre etc come here soon. I may then go to Sky or Freesat & dip in and out of Now TV.

Do you mean their recording or one that you made yourself of the call?

Air broadband who i'm with use city fibre and are excellent uk based call center that's based in Cambridge, if you have a issue it's the same person you spoke to who deals with it until it gets sorted in my case i had disconnections turned out it was their router, they sent me a new router and it's been perfect. Avoid digital home though nasty company they've been kicked of the city fibre network because of their aggressive antics to sign peoople up by misselling contracts and fraudently signing up people too.

I'm one of those folks who can't have a sky dish due to local planning regs. I take it I'm either stuck with virgin or a move to freeview? I'm in Birmingham.

Sky does its TV service over the internet now (Sky Glass with a TV included, Sky Stream with just a small box called a Puck). You don't need Sky's broadband for it, but it may be more cost effective to do so.
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ne...tch-sky-tv-wi/

BT's TV service is now also available without an aerial.
https://community.bt.com/t5/YouView-...l/td-p/2246295

Virgin does a similar IPTV service to BT's called Stream which may work out cheape for some than its cable TV service. However, I believe it's currently for new broadband customers only.
