Yes, I can see people only subbing for a month to watch 1 or more shows rather than 3 months if nothing else interests them.
Personally I would rather have the whole season straight away but I can see how this would lose them money.
I may stop paying for Netflix seeing the 1 click app TeaTV is so good with no buffering.

how will it? the one monthers will just wait till the season ends and still binge it all
Those that want to binge will still binge

Yes, but people who like constantly changing their subs and binge watching would simply wait until the last of the series was available and watch the whole lot then. Most people would be prepared to wait a few weeks. So Netflix would be making the change for no good reason.

For me I watched Cobra Kai in 2 days, I'm not someone who would want to wait 10 weeks before I could watch it in full.

Where do you get the "most people" from? That's a huge assumption.

“Most people” in a cost of living crisis will find non-essential general entertainment largely interchangeable and cancel the dross.
As interest rates rise and creditors get nervous it’ll be popcorn time for the observers of fledgeling streamers. Losing week on week, month on month customers will shatter share prices too.

Interestingly, Netflix's share price has fallen substantially in the last 12 months. It's currently $218.13, 12 months ago it was 260% higher at $577.76. (By comparison, Comcast today is $33.46, a year ago it was $35.06)

It’s a reasonable assumption, I think. I know there are those who can’t wait to be the first to see something new, but personally, I don’t know anyone who would be that desperate, although I know they exist.

I can’t quite see why it is you want everything to fail, but I guess there must be some perverted logic in there somewhere.

I'm sorry but don't see it as a reasonable assumption and neither must Netflix which has more market research at its disposal than you and me.

Capitalism, my dear Old Boy.
Ultimately the presence of loss making companies is undesirable, pushing up costs for established and profitable companies, resulting in higher costs to the end user.
If you are DAZN, throwing billions from a generous benefactor into a failing operation without meaningful rights, all you’ve done is skew the market against consumer interests. We pay those costs.

In this entire, long running, meandering and frequently circular discussion, ‘most people’ are the ones who behave the way OB does, or at least the ones who behave the way he thinks they should. This basic assumption (for which read, ‘misapprehension’) underpins his whole approach to the topic.

I responded when I read the post I replied to. I saw yours as I went down the posts.
I’m not trying to take away the credit from you for saying it first!!

No, I meet with other people from different walks of life. They are a pretty diverse lot (not in a woke way) and they certainly can’t be accused of ‘group speak’ in the way that a lot who post on here are.
It would certainly be a much better forum if people did discuss instead of trying to shout down those with whom they disagree. Sadly, that shows no signs of changing, so perhaps it’s not worth bothering any more.
