With a router no pc should act as a server the router plays the roll as a dhcp server . this should allow all pcs to connect to the internet independantly and if you allow can swap and share files between each of them (excuse my typing ive had a drinkie tonight lol )
i would depend on what type of "server" the pc is acting as

I have a machine on my network that acts as a FTP/HTTP server, its not the DHCP server though thats handled by the router
