NTL home:120 modem USB-ethernet

Hi all,

I currently connect to my modem via USB but I am about to install a network card in preparation for wifi.

Do I need to install different modem drivers once I switch from USB to ethernet?
There is a thread on this forum where somebody could not get their ethernet port on the same modem as me to work, it as an old thread and was un resolved, iI think the ethernet light just never lit up or something.

Many thanks.

Re: NTL home:120 modem USB-ethernet

hi

with an ethernet card the modem doesn't need any drivers and you are probably better off uninstalling the USB drivers, once you have the card installed.

The ethernet card will install its own driver (either 'automatically' if recognised by XP or from a disk with the card) and the modem will 'pick up' the card when you reboot everything
