Freesat 4K TV Box Query

Hi,

My uncles is in his 90's and am thinking of getting the above device
which include the youtube, iplayer apps etc. he currently has a freesat cable installed.

he maybe moving to a small property soon which may not have freesat wiring in. if there is no wiring can we still access the youtube / iplayers apps on the above device? which we intend to buy from argos

i assume its a matter of skipping the tuning for the freesat channels?

please could anyone help with this?

many thanks in advance

Re: Freesat 4K TV Box Query

I would imagine it depends on the model, but you will of course need internet access.

Re: Freesat 4K TV Box Query

If you do not presently own a Freesat box and you are thinking your uncle may move to a house without a satellite dish, then do not buy a Freesat box. If ‘no satellite’ isn’t a problem, but ‘no apps’ is … then buy a streaming player like a Roku or a Google Chromecast or Amazon Firestick instead. They have all the apps, and they all definitely work without needing a broadcast signal of any kind.
