Re: Can i use a wireless modem router with Virgin?
If you already have it then try it out, can't see why it wouldn't work but if you are planning on buying one then just buy a wireless N router for about £30
Re: Can i use a wireless modem router with Virgin?
You do not state in your original post but my assumption is that you want to share your Virgin Cable Internet connection by using a wireless router.
Short answer... the DG834G won't work if you have a Virgin Media Cable broadband connection and you intend to share the connection. It will work if you have a Virgin Media ADSL internet connection.
The DG834G is an ADSL wireless router for use on internet through the telephone line.
If you have a cable internet connection you need something like a Netgear DG614 cable router.
The DG834G would work as a wireless access point plugged into a cable router that did not have wireless.

The Device is a Netgear 54Mbps Wireless ADSL modem router DG834G
Cheers
You need one that does not have a modem and is just a router (aka cable router).

I can see why it wouldn't work. It's an ADSL router.
