Re: WiFi VoLTE Calling Coming To Virgin Media

WiFi Calling as a principle is the same across all networks, however each mobile network's version of WiFi Calling requires it's own configuration so the device knows how to talk to the servers that run it.

So unless a mobile device's firmware has support for a version of WiFi Calling for the network you're on, it won't work.

Pixel devices don't contain the configuration for Virgin Mobile UK's version of WiFi Calling (or VoLTE as far as I'm aware), so it won't work, even if a different network's version does.

All of which has made the whole business of WiFi calls that much more complex to troubleshoot, given that some devices seem to enable VoLTE by default. Most people just take their phone from the box, put in their SIM, configure the WIFi and hope for the best. Most do not know about VoLTE, let along visit help sites like this. I can imagine the frustrated conversations with some bloke in Bangalore right now.

We have 2 pixel 4a one on Virgin Media and another on 3.

The one with the 3 sim has WiFi calling but not the VM sim
