Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Dad still in hospital and just waiting for the test results but I have this terrible gut feeling it won't be good news at all.
The hospital phoned saying they have tried to contact my sister but she is not answering nor responding to the messages left so I had to tell them when they asked if I could contact her the whole sorry story in the hope that they understand that i won't nor can't contact her. Very sad when you actually think about the situation but she only has herself to blame as I'm not her keeper.
Honestly who does not respond to hospital calls about their father, I know I have my phone beside me all the time atm.

You family sounds not to dissimilar to mine.
Many years ago (70s) my dads mum lived in Blackpool with her daughter and son in law, she had to ask to make a cuppa and food.
One day she came home and found all her stuff in the front garden she called my dad who immediately drove from ours to pick her up and take her to her sister's in Great Yarmouth.
But my mum was having non of it and said she's staying with us.
It my dad quite a few hours and when she got he my sister an I where pleased to see her.
My mum said before we carry on there one rule here and said there are none.
If you want to buy the kids sweets ok but not before dinner.
She managed to get her own flat.
In about the 80s she had a heart attack which she survived, when she had the all clear and came home we said we were going to put the dog in a kennel even though he hated them, but she was having none of it and stayed at ours.
She told my aunt that she was looking forward to looking after the dog, then it started.
Letters between my dad and aunt, with my aunt say to my dad are you trying to kill mum.
My mum had to tell my dad to stop and think.
Now things are fully back to normal, and my uncle is suffering with alzheimers, we were told this by my other uncle.
My dad isn't bothered and hasn't reached out to my aunt.
They say you can choose you friends but you can't chose your family.
Dare are say you and you sister need a kick up the backside like my dad and aunt, as we ain't getting any younger.

Not offended at all Hom3r but to put you in the full picture I needed counselling because of what happened to me and what I was expected to do (it all) and why did I do it because I always did, didn't I.
Then with the help of my loving family and counselling I just realised that I had to speak up, the penny finally dropped then my courage came from no where and believe me it was long overdue that I finally found the courage to say no more this was because I finally realised that a good family stands behind you, is there for you and the respect runs both ways always no matter how annoyed you are with each other.
I have never in my my entire life had anyone who hurts me as much as she can and does when given the chance and that is why I decided to leave the most toxic person who has ever been in my life my so called big sister and trust me it was one of the hardest decisions I have made due to the fact i knew it would hurt my Dad but I needed to put myself and family 1st as believe me removing her from my life is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
At the end of the day I will and continue to do all I can for my father with the understanding that he has two daughters and one has a family and who is ill, while the other has no family and who is fit.

If making a decision that was in my best interest then kick away some may call my decision selfish and that is ok cos those people are lucky to have never had a person in their or families life who can make the brightest day seem dull if things are not going there way.
to everyone who has found the strength and courage to leave a toxic relationship whether that be husband, wife, brother, sister etc because I know just how hard and how much control these people can have over you but with support anything is possible.
Sorry for the long reply Hom3r but everything I have said is from my heart.
Still friends I hope

No problems Weenie, We're all here for you

My moan in my crap Pay as you leave car park.
Every week you park, bugger off and shop, spend over a fiver in Asda you get 2 hours free, via a QR code on a bit of paper.
You scan the paper as you leave enter you reg it then tells you if you owe anything. the you leave.
I just got screwed by them for £30. saying I haven't paid and I have no prove that I have.
I think its time the government ban private companies from access any driver details using ANPR tech, and the DVLA hasn't asked my permission to release to anyone.
The system is crap anyway as in the past I've entered my reg and its told me I've already paid.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Smart meters installed Friday and now getting much higher electricity readings, previous averages over years was 5 kWh now around 10kWh and higher.
Wife has daily readings for gas, electricity and solar panels back over many years. Looks like it might be counting usage off solar as well as from grid. British Gas want us to wait 2 weeks to get better readings.
Average solar readings also round the 5 kWh daily.
Hope this is sorted as don't want doubling bills.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
When we had ours installed i remember reading some warning if you had solar power installed. As it didn't affect us I didn't look to see what the problems would be.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Yes - looked up details after installation as BG insisted it would be OK. BG are installing with solar PV but I now find out EON and nPower aren't.
Today the instant reads are really odd. 0W one moment then 1.2 kW the next without turning anything on. The solar PV's are working - we can see generation and based on yesterday we should be generating more than enough even to cover that. We only have 2.5 kWh panels operating over 100% on last FIT entries.
Don't see where it gets 1.2 kW from. The only device on is the dish washer and the background devices which late last night's read around 150-200W. Very odd.
Still since we have the last few years worth of daily readings we will have some ammo to work with BG. Their smart meter tech support didn't seem surprised so it can't be uncommon.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Scammers on eBay, i bought something on 4th Feb 2019 from China(never had a problem in the past from China) and the item never arrived and judging by loads of negative recent feedback they have been doing this to loads of buyers, luckily eBay refunded but it is a pain in the ass.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Hope nobody had any problems with Tesco tonight, bloody system error caused our contactless system to crash and as a result, had to shut the garage and I ended up on trolley duty for 3 hours. I left half an hour early, nothing left to do for those 30 minutes.
