They install crap all over the place and when you uninstall it,it hurts other programs!!

I downloaded and installed this WORD DOC PROGRAM so I could read .doc and .docx files. (I dont have wordpad)

When I uninstalled it,it removed the file MSXML3.DLL and my browser uses that file to do some XML tasks.........

I dunno what version of this file I had on here... Many different versions!!!!!!

I have IE6 SP1 .. Does anyone know what MSXML3.DLL file is usually on 98se machines that have SP1?? (What version of it)

Thanx guys

Thanx buddy....

I was thinking of just re-installing my browser but then it might mess up what I have..... I might copy the folder to another loction and try to install it and grab the file..Im asssuuming this file came with that but im not sure.... (Maybe it didnt)

It doesnt tell me anything is missing,it just doesnt communicate with my "colector.xml" file now and thats the only file missing so I assume thats why....

I posted this on CTH also but that site has been having alot of database errors lately. I am about the only one who reg uses that site anymore and im woried Dave might just let it go

We're running out of GOOD VBB sites like Pauls here..... We gotta fight for whats good!!

Thanx again Stevie

I did some sesrching and I found one that works

Its 1.11 Megs but I dont think its the 98se version of the file..

This File version is 8.50.2162.0

The Description is MSXML 3.0 SP 5

This one WORKS but I notice its slightly slower (A tinsy bit)

I thiink the one for 98se is under 1 Meg.. (Still SP5 though but 98se version of it)

Re: Why I hate installers!!

Another reason to switch to Linux :P. At least one with a decent programme management platform and most popular ones do.

Re: Why I hate installers!!

I hate it when they by default tick additional software to install that you neither want nor care about.

Sometime you miss it then have to uninstall it.
