Flat Cat 6 Vs Bog Standard Cat 5 Cable

Hi guys
Im looking at wiring my house and getting rid of our wifi signals. We have a newborn due soon, and the missus is worried about wi fi radiation, especially since we got the 5ghz BT hub4.

I have been looking at flat Cat cables and i found this flat cable which is a CAT 6.

Because its flat (i want to place it under carpets and floorboards)
Do you think there will be any more data loss than a normal 'thick' style cat 5 or cat 6?
Im always a bit sceptical on flat cables, although I have never tried or tested them.
Has anyone else got experience in using them?

Thats the only difference, although, as with any cable, flat or round, the quality will differ so dont buy the cheapest nasty ones off ebay

Getting rid of WiFi is pointless unless you also plan on getting rid of all mobile phones, tablets, laptops and baby monitors, etc. since they all give off just as much, if not dozens of times more radiation than WiFi.

That said if you're insistent on it, there's no "data loss" with a proper cable of any type. Flat cables will be fine, as long as you avoid the dirt cheap ones as craigy says.

You'll want STP cables though obviously if you want to avoid radiation, since cables can give off plenty of EM radiation too, especially over long distances.

I've always thought the best reason to get off WiFi is reliability and speed of data transmission. Ethernet does better on both.

Keep in mind that if you want to do it properly, get shielded versions of the cable and decent quality so that repeatedly treading on them doesn't make them split like cheaper ones.

I've been saying this for years as many others with many studies point it out, all the wireless signals just makes your home a cancer death spot, little people ever guess given if you have smart devices like: smart meters (health hazard) or mobile phones which however the industry likes to say otherwise they do cause very serious health problems, like cancer of all things - think about holding it to your head then think how a microwave works in cooking your food... it's the same.

Really going for a wired network is a better choice for your family's protection from two things, security of your network making more secure why do you think all government high security areas have it not wireless??? ; the other the simple aspect of putting it all together, it much simpler than wireless trust me - I built my own very easy indeed with cat 6: shielded cable of the round type.

Remember if you use cat 5e/6: shielded for it to work right (shielding) connect it up to your earth connection on/in your network box from your power supply; if you was wondering. Don't forget the gigabyte switch to connect network together to there after, just you have choose a managed or un-mangaged switch.

Those are pretty bold claims, not backed up by much information out there, Microwave Oven ~800-1000W directed at a specific item of food, mobile phone, depends but around about 100W of energy during a phone call (off hands free obviously)

Best to put the cable in conduct if you have to run around the place, once it's place push through the cable then position where you want or protective out sheathing if on floors even oval conduct in place of a section of underlay underneath your carpet just think out side the box & the answers will come to you in time. Nothing is straight forward as it seams.

Just like to say the CAT 6 Belkin cables from Poundland work a treat.

I bought 4 today and am using it now to post this..
The only downside is they r only 1m long.

Microwaves cook your food.

They don't give your food cancer.

Plus it's not as if every time someone burns their hand on an oven or frying pan they get cancer.
