I don't know. These things are best not publicised anyway.

Fair enough, I only asked on the off chance.
Although, the location of all the BT telephone exchanges is public, not sure why it is better to shroud in mystery?

You wouldn't be very happy if your broadband went down because someone decided to relieve the hubsite of all its equipment.

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
There’s also been a number of attacks on telco infrastructure linked to 5G conspiracies, so they wouldn’t want high profile locations in the public domain.

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
Had one site where the little darlings broke in, nicked all the equipment. This was all replaced with newer stuff, might as well upgrade, tidy, fix things. They then repeated their "shopping trip" this time grabbing bargains on brand new equipment.

In the days when everyone posted their TRACERT data, we could (and I did) piece it all together.

The same could be said of BT exchanges, the locations of which are all public, but that doesnt really happen.

Re: 1gig Rollout getting faster
I am sure the VM ones used to be as well. I can remember googling the Lincoln one a few years ago and finding the address and directions on google maps. It would have made a good CIA black site because driving past it you would think it is a just another random pile of bricks.

And, lets say someone did steal the hub site equipment.....
Who are they going to sell DOCSIS3.1 head end equipment to? ....Virgin?

Given that many VM sites are pretty obvious, and a load of offices that could well be hub sites? are listed on the website, how many copper thefts has the secrecy policy prevented?
It won't prevent targeted gang thefts, with the local knowledge to locate the site, it won't prevent opportunistic thefts from people that walk past and see the VM vans and hoarding.

Can you please not post such large images - they distort the page when viewing on a tablet.
Update: Images edited to be smaller.

Obviously that is unknowable. But conversely, what is the benefit of the locations being publicised? For BT, knowing the distance to the exchange is useful, but that's irrelevant for VM.

All land owned by companies is public - https://use-land-property-data.servi...ts/ccod#access
So unless VM just lease the land or something, it will be obvious. I am curious now so going to find out heh.
