Upload Limit on Netgear Router

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and I have a problem with my own purchased Netgear Router wgr614 v7.

I seem to only get 60kb/s upload speeds even though in my torrent sw (utorrent) its set to unlimited!! Even though I can download in excess of 1.1MB/s

It is driving my nuts.

Any help or pointers would be ideal.

cheers

Snowy

Re: Upload Limit on Netgear Router

I don't think it is the router that is the problem it is more than likely the server you are connected to.

The router should be able to handle 11MBs+

Re: Upload Limit on Netgear Router

Hi,

I thought about that one and I took my laptop to a BT openview area and with no other settings change except for the internet login I could get upload speeds of 300kb/s +

Thats why its really getting to me now!

cheers

Re: Upload Limit on Netgear Router

What is your broadband speed so we can work out if your speed is slow or not?

Well if you multiply the above speeds you have posted by 8 then you get approx 10Mb and close to the 512kb upload.

What do you get using this http://www.speedtest.net/ as you can post the link

Re: Upload Limit on Netgear Router

Snowy,

are you getting your "B"s and your "b"s mixed up? (Bytes and bits)

If you are on 10Mb (10 Megabits, 10,000Kilobits), your speeds are right.
