I know i could get cheaper cards but this card came with a number of positive recommendations.

Might have missed something, but isn't the 2.5gig port on your router the WAN port? So why are you updating the card in your PC as all the other ports on the router are just 1gig? I don't understand what your hoping for other than being 30 odd out of pocket??

Some routers like NETGEAR Nighthawk Wi-fi 6 Router (RAX200) , AX11000 Tri-Band Wireless Speed have 2.5Gb LAN port.

OK, it's just according to the manual the 2.5gig port is the WAN port not one of the LAN ports or have I missed something?
