You are doing well.

Well done Jay you have worked so hard to get to here. May 2024 see all your hopes achieved.
Hope Sod's Law doesn't kick in so I am whispering my Happy news. John has been given a new operation date.
I now have to corral him for the next 3 weeks prior to his op to ensure he stays free of any form of infection, or get covid, which will be equivalent of herding cats but my threat to confiscate his walking sticks and padlock his wheel chair seems to be working.
He should be home the next day for his 80th Birthday and, after the pain he has been in for the last year, this hip replacement operation will be the best birthday present ever.

I wanna see the grandkids grow up and be able to go places with them and play with them. That in itself is enough to keep me going.
7 months ago I could hardly move let alone play or go anywhere

I'm involved with a Men's charity in my town, on Tuesday we had a local web newspaper do a interview.
I've also submitted my request and reason to be a Trustee, for which I'll be doing paperwork.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Now that things have settled more after my kidney and Pancreas transplant back in May, I am feeling fantastic. I literal new lease of life. Bloods are only getting checked once a month now and my many many tablets have reduced down loads.
HbA1c is down to 34 so totally no longer a diabetic. Not needed insulin since the day of the transplant. Kidney function of 57% which is apparently fantastic. Everything else is well in range too, Calcium, potassium, iron, phosphate etc.
Full of energy and excited to resume my normal life and soon looking for a job so I can get back too work. Past five years have mostly been a waste and also a nightmare loosing both parent and all the dialysis and hospital stays and extra surgeries since the transplant.
Onwards and upwards. I'm feeling super positive.
