Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
What was something I once considered to be pie-in-the-sky, an impossible move, something I was told I'd suffer for if it ever happened etc became a reality today. Something I've waited 5 years for and should never have been denied to me.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Got the Christmas tree and decorations down from the loft this morning. Thank goodness for LED lights: They always work first time. No more searching for dud/lose bulbs.
I'll be doing an ice tree with blue and white LEDs and silver decorations.

Just put ours up, such a pain in the ass looking forward to when they come down again! This is only in the Happy thoughts thread as it is one less job to do.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
I love to celebrate Christmas and enjoy the decorations making the house look "pretty" but get the tree in from the garden, spilling pines everywhere and then turning the lights off each night (plugs are not the most accessible). Was tempted to get some Alexa controlled plugs but for the price it not worth it for the 2-3 weeks of the year they would definitely get used.
Also off work until 27 Dec (someone else already had time between Christmas and New Year) and I'm on-call anyway.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Seeing as the tree and other lights are up, time to have the Xmas avatar and signature pic.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Just redeemed £20 worth of nectar points to help buy some Xmas booze and nibbles. Still have another £60 odd to ease the strain.
In using the £20 worth I now qualify for 300 extra points (£1:50) on every shop over £2 in January. Since I tend to shop little and often they could add up nicely.

We have nigh on £100 to redeem next week so it will be a free shop for nothing as we have been saving our points for the last year.

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Our siamese likes pulling toys out of the tree which sometimes ends in the tree falling over!
