But here we are in mid July and Arsenal have been left behind again and one wonders if we are going to see a last day rush again by Arsenal Sir.

Haven't really been left behind. Few clubs have completed many transfers yet.

Chelsea , Man City , Liverpool , Everton and several other clubs have already signed 3 or 4 players already.

Few have made large transfers however. Arsenal have made a small signing or two as well.
Evening Standard have said we're making another bid for Suarez. Not sure how I feel about that to be honest. Would prefer we get higuain but if Madrid are messing us around then I can see Wenger's reasoning, still I don't think he'll be a popular choice.

I really want Higuain too. not sure whats going on though. RM sya theres no bid, family of Higuain say theres an agreement with Higuain but clubs yet to agree and then theres the media reporting all kinds of stuff. think its safe to say theres no bid but discussions.
Suarez is a quality player but hes nuts. Arsenal are probably making RM sweat, flexing muscles. Suarez wants CL football. Whats interesting is Suarez never killed off an Arsenal move which is good news even if this is just Arsenal calling RMs bluff. win-win

Yeah he isn't the player you want associated with the club really. The biting could be a one off but the stuff with Evra is different....

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
So if all the rumours about Arsenal are true, that means Wenger's spending this summer would come to around £100 million, before wages are even added on. And all the targets seem to be strikers. If he landed all 4 strikers, who would be preferred starting choice? For me Rooney and Higuain would be automatic starts, with Suarez taking a bench place. Maybe switching to a 3 upfront tactic, and incorporate Rooney, Higuain and Suarez into an attacking force that most clubs would muck themselves against.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window
Juventus Boss Antonio Conte Confirms Emanuele Giaccherini Heading To Sunderland
Juventus boss Antonio Conte has confirmed midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini is leaving the club, with the Italy international expected to complete his move to Sunderland shortly.
Sunderland and Juventus are thought to have agreed a fee for the player, with Italian reports suggesting an initial fee of around £6.8m, with extra fees based on appearances and goals.
Juventus boss Antonio Conte, when asked about Giaccherini's departure in a news conference, said: "Any departure is painful, but it is necessary in times of crisis.
"Each departure causes me pain. To me, every player is non-transferable, but I understand the needs of the club.
"If you ask me if I'm happy, the answer is no."
But reports in England and Italy claim Emanuele Giaccherini has been offered around double his salary to move to Wearside.
Giaccherini featured in every game for Italy in the Confederations Cup last month, finishing a memorable team goal against Brazil.
He made 17 appearances for Juventus last season, seven of those from the substitutes' bench, and with Giaccherini keen to cement his place in the Italy squad for the World Cup, Sunderland will be hopeful that their lucrative contract offer will persuade him to join Paolo Di Canio at the Stadium of Light.
