Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
I may be late to the party on this, I was looking at the listings for possibly the first time as they have a football themed couple of weeks coming up, but how come we have H2 in HD but not the History channel?

And for some reason H2 (SD) is on a lower TV package than History. I'd have thought the main channel would always try to be the most widely available.

There have always been these anomolies. We don't always come out worse than Sky, though.
For example, we get Eden and H2 in HD, whereas Sky viewers can only access the SD version of these channels. The reverse is the case for History and CI channels, both of which are available in HD on Sky satellite.

What you mean the exclusive Theone posted several months ago about UHD and most on here called him a liar?
I can see why he and others don't post here anymore, bit of egg on your faces now isn't it?

Well said, Callum. Some people just have the mindset that everything will stay the same and nothing can be changed.
Theone's contributions to Cable Forum will indeed be sorely missed. He was a pretty good source of information, so that's our loss on a thread which so many rely on to get information on what may be happening behind the scenes.
As stuff doesn't seem to get announced officially these days until it's about to appear (or even until after it appears), we can ill afford to lose guys like him.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
I have a 1080p TV and have yet to invest in a 4k TV
However I have to say that the BT 4K picture looked considerably better than the picture on BT Sport 2 HD on my TV.

I thought that - tried it for a couple of minutes, trying to ascertain if the down scaled UHD picture would be better than HD.
Shame we couldn't record the UHD - possibly because Virgin didn't want us to see how inadequate their disc size is?

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2018)
Good to hear it downscales well. Didn't bother going for a UHD when bought a replacement TV last year, didn't seem any point.

Any little snippets of hope, I’m not wanting red button sport I don’t watch or animal documentaries. People want movies and entertainment. Any hints
