20 teams and 39 entrants contested qualifying in total over the 1989 season. Prequalifying got that down to 30 cars for 26 gridslots. 28 will be pushing it for most of the pit garages, and I'd expect Monaco to be limited to maybe 26 cars, but considering NASCAR has 43 pit slots I'm sure they'll work out something to accomodate 2 extra cars if BMW-Sauber end up pushing an entry for 2010.

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
28 cars on a grid shouldn't be a problem
Add a 4th qual session
1st - loss 4
2nd - loss another 4
3rd loss 10
4th final grid 10
I think it would be chaos at some tracks first corners
---------- Post added at 21:10 ---------- Previous post was at 21:08 ----------
new pit lane for Monaco is being planned, may have to increase that.

My partner was a WRC tech for MLP and Pro-drive and they said that it was amazing the amount of fiddling going on in WRC, from fuel, weights and also even having duplicate FIA seals

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
Renault have been looking for an excuse to pull out of F1 and this has handed it to them on a plate. This is for all intents and purposes an admission of guilt, especially since they're not contesting the charges. The hearing on Monday should establish who was actually at fault where though.

With the announcement today about Briatore and Symmonds it looks on balance, we now in the "no smoke without fire" territory.

Lets say Renault nee Benetton have form when it comes to exploiting the rules. They were the first to try and argue Launch Control was not traction control and then there was the pit lane refuelling accident with Jos Verstappen; the investigation found that the team had removed components from the standard FIA fuel rig which had a side effect of causing an incease fuel flow (Hence shorter pitstops)

The speedier refueling was proved at the opening round of the 1994 season at Brazil. Schumacher's stop had the same amount of fuel as Senna's, but he ended up ahead.

If you want you can the download the 15 documents being cited as evidence "according to the Daily Mail" .

The benefit of discussing F1 on this forum is that there are just a few us who post regularly. The Autosport forum has at least five threads on the same topic one at 122 pages since August 30 and rising by the minute !

Could the fact that this crash was allegedly staged have affected the outcome of the 2008 championship?

Re: Formula 1 2009 Season [may contain real time spoilers]
at NPjr for having the courage to come out with this....
His F1 career is toast (probably was when he got sacked) and I can understand the pressure he wa in when he decided to agree to the incident but although that doesn't make him innocent it has brought to everyones attention the underhand actions by FB & PS.. They're the ones that need banning from all FIA events...
