Howard Webb to referee the final - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...10/8802425.stm
"Englishman Howard Webb has been chosen to referee the World Cup final between Netherlands and Spain in Johannesburg on Sunday, Fifa has confirmed.
The 38-year-old Yorkshireman has had a good tournament so far, as have his assistants Michael Mullarkey and Darren Cann, who will join him in the final."

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Good luck to Holland today, it will be a tough match against Spain.
I'll go for a 2 : 1 win for the Dutch in 90 minutes
A bit of trivia for you, if Spain win today then New Zealand will be the only unbeaten team of WC2010

Howard Webb now lives near Norwich, according to the local papers.
I want the Netherlands to win. (IIRC Holland is a region in the Netherlands, it would be like saying Essex instead of England)

'FIFA' are being pratt,
Fifa 'pressures' Mandela to attend World Cup final

How dare they, this 92 year old man has far more respect than everybody at FIFA added together.
He should tell the to **** off, He'll attend if he his able to. Seph Blatter if nothing more than a clone of Bernie in F1.

True, but very few Dutch people object to calling The Netherlands Holland. In fact, the most popular chant is HUP HOLLAND!

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Adrian Chiles asked Edgar Davids about that. Davids said he preferred Holland as it sounded more "edgy" and "modern"

Yeah, it's informal but people are used to it and know what it means.
COME ON HOLLAND! Van Persie to score the winner

Very sporting of the Dutch to play the ball back to the keeper after he made a hash of the inital pass back.

Don't understand why they did that Was it a passback?
Oh were they trying to give it back after Spain put the ball out?

Holland tried to give back posession to Spain after they put the ball out for an injury. Holland knocked it back with a standard back pass but Casillas completely fluffed it up and it went out for a corner. So Holland rolled it back again from the corner and Casillas managed to hold on to it this time.
A few teams in a World Cup final would have taken the corner for real, i'm sure.

Yeh. I thought it was a bad pass from the Dutch so wondered why they gave it back for that.

Holland just can't seem to be bothered. Giving the ball away time, and time, and time again.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Congratulations to the Spanish. The best team won.
And yes, Holland were cynical.
Ah well, fourth time lucky...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa
Shame Howard Webb had such a hard time with the game and got booed when going up to collect his medal. I think he did well to avoid sending players off (like the possible red card when Sneijder kicked the ball away)
