Perhaps pedantic should change his username to ironic.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
Bad news about Petr Cech
Though what do people think about the challenge?
Mourinho seems to be blaming Hunt, yet after seeing the challenge, it looked like an accident, with Cech sliding into Hunt. Hunt didn't put his foot out or change his run, just that Cech couldn't stop after collecting the ball.
...also, Bolton have offered to lend them a goalie...

Don't forget, according to Mourinho it's always the other players' fault.

I think of the two keepers, I would have thought Cuduccini would have come off worse, the tackle on Cech looked harmless at the time.

These things happen, it was an accident, course Mourinho's blaming someone else, he always does. I tell you what though this will hurt them, I think Cech is their best player

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
when i saw them both at the weekend the one on Cech seemed to be hardly any contact at all .. i think it was an accident he wasn't kicked or anything it was just contact with is alot different to deliberatly being kicked
the second one also seemed to be an accident although maybe the Wigan bloke could have done abit more to get out of the way

The Wigan bloke could have done a lot more to get out of the way - particularly seeing as he had to drive all the way to Reading in the first place

To be fair though that Sonko could form a wall by himself, I would imagine that you could give yourself a concussion just bumping into him let alone running into him

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
one thing this did show
i hate all the diving and play acting and stuff that goes on and the 15 roll overs after you get tackled
looking at the Cech one at the time i thought he was making a meal of it like alot of players do when they aren't really hurt at all.. so you can'y always be sure.. however he didn't keep rolling over about 15 times from side to side and neither did Cuddicini either

that's what i don't understand surely someone at the FA, UEFA and FIFA must have noticed that EVERYONE who rolles over all the time somehow manages to get back up and keep playing but when they just lie there they are injured
not letting the trainers on until the ref says so has helped but it's not enough
as i said before the only reason bungs were looked into is because that means money going out of the game.. with diving and stuff only the fans get cheated out of the money they paid to get into the ground
