Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
Those of you who are friends on FB may have noticed that I've taken up running this year, with a view to doing a 10K at some point in the autumn. Unfortunately, the various aches, pains, strains and generally unfit have meant that I haven't been able to get past 4 miles for months - today, back on the treadmill, I've just done my first 10k in 54:38. How chuffed?

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4
The end result is happy but not the story.
My Brother In-laws, Nephew(6) in November last year broke his arm, which was fixed.
In about March he was riding his bike, and turned to sharply and broke the arm for the 2nd time, again it was fixed by a metal rod.
On Monday, he broke it for the 3rd time, bending the metal rod in the process, his mother heard the scream from a distance away.
Well today we's waiting for the cast to on, and has been banned from any physical activity/sports for at leat a year.

Bah, it needs to be at least a 3 Congrats though, if you can knock that out on a treadmill a 'proper' 10K will be very doable.

Not bad. Training for the Glasgow 1/2 in a month so doing 9 and 10 mile long runs once a week. Once that's out the way it'll be upped to 15 mile long runs till about Xmas time as well as the rest of the training
The turn of the year is when the proper pain starts. Aiming for 3 1/2 hours this time so it's a LOT of training.
