HD2 and it caused some kind of issue so he removed it and put something else on it, no idea what as he is forever tinkering with it.
It may have been something along the lines of the American version of T-Mobile I think and some firmware from there did not like the UK version of the phone.
He is always on the HD2 forums as well.

Well there is the T mous American version which is different . On the Dev site there are 2 different sections for each . A lot of the HD2 Leo custom firmwares are compatible with the American device but IIRC there is a radio issue the other way around. Some of the radios work with both devices though

I sit next to him and he tells what he has done this time, but as I do not have a HTC I do not follow him completely as I have around 9 months of my contract still to go.

Re: Virgin Mobile & HTC Desire
I agree with everything above except signal, out of all mobile phone networks I rate t-mobile/virgin the worst and I live in the city.

I live in Glasgow and Virgin gives me a perfect signal most of the time where as when I was on O2 the signal was pretty poor.
It just depends on where you live for your experiences of the networks.

You will have an issue with some of the American firmware upgrades available if you download the wrong one but that is easily rectified, read the reviews first.

Well, I called HTC and they confirmed it. It's the new version of Android causing it to behave badly apparently

As I said they are trying other versions so may not be caught up the problem you are having so maybe that is the answer as the are specialised HTC forums out there with all the answers.

Of course a Virgin staff member would say all this. I don't understand why you can't admit there's a fault/bug. HTC admit it, and they say Virgin know all about it, yet you continue to deny it!

What is behaving badly?
The new 2.2 Android isn't available for the Desire yet.

I am not denying it as I do not work for Virgin Mobile.
My colleagues have this phone with no issues but they are geeks and just deal with it by flashing and installing different firmwares and such like.

I have no issues with the network anywhere that I go in the country and have never had any issues with the billing.
I find paying 10p to speak to an agent over a fault annoying especially when the guy did not have a clue and in the end I googled and fixed the issue myself.

Re: Virgin Mobile & HTC Desire
My Desire had an update this morning (1.21.405.2) Not the awaited android 2.2 one though
And now I am resetting up my scene again.
