Re: Football World Cup 2010
At 20 - 1 before the draw, I was going to place a tenner on Ivory Coast. Probably wise I didn't now.

Interesting point, one which most of your country men don't agree with or else there'd be special editions in Wales as there are in Scotland, no demand for it obviously, that's capitalism for you.

Thing is though Wales has a better rugby team yet your national rugby team still gets more coverage so success seems to have little to do with it - enjoy the next few years getting beaten by Wales again

Coverage due to being the World Champions and now World runners up, when you are one of the most successful teams in World rugby history it's difficult to get motivated for provincial matches.

Odds on Brazil have gone down as a result of their group, Spain are now clear favourites.

Total rubbish and you know it! England want to win any matches they play in. Getting back on topic England have always had disproportionately high coverage in the press even before the 2003 rugby World Cup and the er....1966 football World Cup. In the last 5 years Wales have emerged as the dominant force in domestic rugby but when all the nations play on the same day England still gets the bigger headlines.

Dominant force lol how many World Cup finals you been in? Zero isn't it
And the point remains there is just no call or demand for any change to the way the papers are done in Wales, if people stopped buying them/set their own up as they do in err Scotland things would change.

Re: Football World Cup 2010
It's going to be a very quiet World Cup for me unless they ban the Vuvuzela, had to watch the Confederations cup with the sound off and will probably do the same come June.

How often do you get down here to canvass the locals? Not often I'm guessing.

Behave Wales have only won 2 and before that you had a 10 year wait to win one, hardly prolific. Besides I know what I'd rather win, Champion of the World or Champ of 6 Nations, not exactly a tough call.

I don't need to canvass, newspapers are businesses, either they fill the demand or some one else will, no one has ergo no demand.

Did you miss the part where I said Wales were the dominant force in domestic rugby over the last 5 years? I think so.

None of the nationals will lower their price for the regions. But if England gets priority in the sporting pages we certainly deserve it.

Did you miss the bit about rather being World champions than 6 nations, I think so.

They don't have to, they print different versions in Scotland and even have national papers just for them, why doesn't that happen in Wales, if their was a demand for it they'd be there.
