Re: Football Season 2011/12
Again, you have to ask if the second goal had been disallowed & Spurs had levelled at 1 - 1 what effect would that have had on the outcome?

Well, I was just going to say: you can argue about the goal, but not the result.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
The officials were terrible, they need to be relegated to the lower leagues, that 'goal' was the turning point of the game.
I don't mind losing games - to anyone- but no way was that a goal- remember the whole ball has to be over the line, how the ref saw that with a lot of players there beats me - disgraceful.
And the incident with Parker, the Chelsea player should have had a red card for violent conduct - but there again the offials were on Chelsea's side, as usual.

You can I think. We obviously don't know what would have happened but the third Chelsea goal came as a result of Spurs trying to score with 10 minutes left.

Something has to be done, it is spoiling the game. Young won the penalty rather than it being awarded for foul play, there was contact, but not enough for him to go down so theatrically.

I suppose you can, but on balance the better team won imo. That still doesn't change the fact that the ref. simply can't give the goal as he can't have seen it cross the line. If he claims he saw it cross the line he's lying.

Something else the refs need to take into mind as well. At no point at all was the Villa playing trying to commit a foul and bring down Young or stop him playing. yes there was contact but contact alone shouldn't be enough to be awarded a penalty. Correct me if i'm wrong but I don't think the ref even booked the villa player. If that's true how on earth can the ref then give a penalty

Why would he have to book him?

that's the point I was making. There was contact but there wasn't a foul. How can you give a pen if there hasn't even been a foul. If it is just contact then play on and get on with the game. It's only recently that even the smallest bit of contact leads to all these ex players saying this is a stonewall pen

Still fail to see your point. Bookings have nothing to do with it. You can commit a foul and not be booked.
