The UK, as the 5/6th richest nation has an obligation to accept its fair chare of asylum claims. If an individual wishes to claim asylum in the UK, they have every *legal* right to do so.

You seem to overdoing the dog whistling tonight? Best check under the bed!
Let's cut to the chase. Do you want undocumented migrants who have deliberately destroyed their ID documents, who might be Albanians who bring their crime with them, who might be ISIS/Alqaeda, etc?
However, I am in favour of a deal with France that stops the boats but enrols UK in a European wide asylum share programme. The problem with the programme will be the calculations of fair shares and what degree of say we have in rules formulation.
Finally, we have to be vigilant. 750 millions (or whatever) from Africa could be eyeing up Europe and the UK especially. What then?
In 2021, there were around 9 asylum applications for every 10,000 people living in the UK. Across the EU27 there were 14 asylum applications for every 10,000 people. The UK was therefore below the average among EU countries for asylum applications per head of population, ranking 16th among EU27 countries plus the UK on this measure.
Quote:
In 2021, Germany received the largest number of asylum applicants among EU countries (190,500), followed by France (120,700), Spain (65,300), Italy (53,600) and Austria (39,900).
For comparison, the U.K. had 72,027 asylum applications in 2021
U.K. population 66,000,000 - 72,000 asylum applications - 1 application per 917 citizens
Germany population 84,000,000 - 190,000 applications - 1 application per 442 citizens
France population 68,000,000 - 120,000 applications - 1 application per 567 citizens
Spain population 47,000,000 - 65,000 applications - 1 application per 723 citizens
Italy population 59,000,000 - 53,000 applications - 1 application per 1113 citizens
Austria population 9,000,000 - 40,000 applications - 1 application per 225 citizens
Per capita, Germany had roughly twice as many asylum applications as the U.K., while Austria had over four times as many.

It’s not about the stats. It’s about what’s actually going on. Before your very eyes, scores of economic migrants are arriving in the boats. Scores of likely criminals are arriving too. Of course many of them apply for asylum and there may well be genuine cases among them. But if they keep coming, with no means of removal, and we don’t know who they are, we are in dead trouble. Plus these opportunists will be living off us whilst culturally antithetic to thd British culture. It’ll destroy the UK as we know/knew it.
Ian in particular needs to wake up and address this.
Yeah, you don’t want let facts get in the way of your Great Replacement Theory…

Stats -Pah.
Have you had some unwelcome neighbours move in ? I'd write to your MP about it if I were you They'll soon be cluttering up Waitrose too, having the cheek to claim they're not staff...
Most of the crime is distinctly home grown. Immigrants tend to work, that's why they're here. We desperate need them too given our ageing non working population, and us telling EU health workers that they aren't welcome. Still as along as we've got our country back, that's all that matters.

Of course they're welcome (as far as I'm concerned) - as long as they are not Albanian gang-masters, pimps, criminals nor Islamic extremists.
Are you sick enough of it yet to want to rejoin the EU so we can send them back to the EU country that they came from? Or is that a bridge - or tunnel - too far?
WE shouldn't have to rejoin the EU to send them back or stop them coming. If the government had any balls or was in the slightest way competent they could deal with.
Also there could be many arguments made in favour of rejoining the EU, this particular issue would be way down the list.

How many scores exactly? Why not be a bit more precise? Why should I have to check on your behalf?
