Nice to see someone share the same views on the Sterling saga. I also have a belief he's rightin leaving too, he's a young lad that wants to get on with it now and not in this 2-3years time maybe crap people keep pulling from their backsides. You won't be winning any league title's or European trophies any time soon at Liverpool. At this very minute, he's making Liverpool not the other way round.

They are achieving something that your country should be proud of.

Yep we beat the second best team in the world and it still feels like the media have a "do we have to?" attitude to reporting on it

Perhaps they should report on how messed up the ranking system is for Belgium to be ranked second

Re: Football Season 2014/15
Edit: just checked on the Mirror website, if England had beaten the second best team in the world you can bet it wouldn't have been the SECOND story on there.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
The BBC is usually pretty fair and unbiased but for Wales to get the same amount of coverage in the sports papers as England we'd have to have found a cure for AIDS.

It's not unbiased for private companies to cater for what they believe their customers want. If consumers are unhappy with their content they'll vote with their feet. For me the biggest surprise is that Belgium are ranked second in the world, what a joke, don't rate them any higher than England tbh so that leaves plenty of teams out there better.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
In that case don't you think it would be fair for these 'private companies' to charge us less as they don't consider us as important? Hypocrisy when they then claim to be 'British' publications. Downplay our success as much as you like but we drew away and beat at home the team FIFA have ranked second in the world and we're currently top of our group. England haven't come near that so far and although we've got different teams in our groups we've achieving success that would get England plastered all over the back pages had it been them.

Yes sadly most of the media in this country can't see in front of their noses.

Yes every time we get the publications of these rankings the first words l utter are how ridiculous is that but sadly it seems they are not for changing it.

Re: Football Season 2014/15
How the Hell are these rankings worked out? Seems stupid that Wales will jump ahead just because they beat Belgium. And how in the World did they ever get to 2nd?

Perhaps if more Welsh people bought them they'd get more coverage that's the way to get a business to do what you want, they're interested in profit not pandering to some national insecurities. Are you really telling me that even based on rankings you believe Belgium are the second best team in the world?
